The plan for tonight was to enjoy a sushi dinner and write our life lists.
The sushi was great, one more roll would have been perfect and next time I'll just get the plain old yam roll instead of the yam roll with all the extra stuff piled on top. It was a bit weird. I bought this bottle of blueberry green tea to pour in our wine glasses (we don't drink) so we could pretend to be sophisticated.
We learned something about each other tonight. My list was very "big picture" and Randy's was very detailed. Where I would write "visit every continent", Randy would list every city he wants to go to and all the places he wants to see while he's there. I also tended to only write down ideas that were important to me and that I considered to be realistic and attainable whereas Randy was writing down every idea that popped into his head with no regard to the cost or importance. I felt that Randy's list was silly and he thought mine was boring but then we realized that we actually want to do many of the same things but we were just writing them down in very different ways.
We both want to go on a hot air balloon, take the kids to Disneyworld, go on a cruise, skydive, fly in a helicopter, live on a boat and learn to scuba dive.
There are some definite differences in adventure levels. I want to learn how to crochet, Randy wants to swim with whales. I want to float in the Dead Sea, Randy wants to fire walk. These lists will be a work in progress and I look forward to doing these things together (probably not the crocheting though).
Mine is the one organized into sections, Randy's is more of a stream of conciousness type of list. I was far to worried about making mine neat and mulling over every idea before deciding whether it was important enough to make the list. Randy's list is probably more fun.

So you know, for a time there I thought I was infertile, it made me miserable to even fathom that I couldn't have kids. When I learned to dive (scuba) I remember being down on a wreck dive, and I thought to myself 'you know, if I can't have kids, diving is the next best thing' It's freaking MAGICAL, amazing and you HAVE to try it. You live in the world's top cold water diving destination....THE WORLD'S.
Go dive.
Very nice date. I love the life lists and how you could see the similarities and differences you had. We might have to do this for one of our future dates.

What a great resource!
i like the term 'life lists' better then 'bucket list'. it's less depressing :) cute date!
I love this! I can't imagine talking Bob into sitting down to make these sorts of lists - I'd bet we would learn something about each other if we did so.
