My brain doesn't work. I blame the children.
I have decided to tackle a very ambitious knitting project. I want to knit Sylvi. Here she is:

Isn't she beautiful? I think I want to knit it without the hood, when the hood is down the top flower will be hidden which is a shame.
Anyway, I perused yarn choices for a while and decided to go with Cascade Eco+. It's a good quality yarn and I found a decent sale so my cost for the coat even with buttons will be under $75.
So I ordered my yarn and after I had paid I realized I was a skein short. After a couple of panicked phone calls to the company I got the extra skein added in and paid for it.
Today I get an email saying my order has shipped. Awesome! So I take a closer look and discover that I accidentally ordered pink yarn. Pink. I am not knitting or wearing a pink Sylvi. I also can't return the yarn so I now own 2000m of Bulky weight pink 100% wool yarn. The only think I can think of to make with it is a blanket but I don't want a blanket that has to be hand washed and laid flat to dry.
I wanted this colour:

And I accidentally ordered this colour:

I am so disappointed and upset. I don't even know if I can reliably dye this quantity of yarn all one colour. I might try.

Perhaps you could sell the yarn you bought, and then buy the yarn you want? You can sell it through Ravelry or elsewhere.
That IS a beautiful sweater/jacket. And I love the colour you meant to order. So vibrant. :) It's been a loooong time since I've picked up my needles. My knitting is all out of sight lately and so out of mind. I miss the light weight of socks hanging from my needles as I knit around and around and around...
