So far 2011 is shaping up to be a phenomenal year. It's hard to feel that way at this moment as I sit at home with a crushing headache, a sick kid on the couch and my van in the shop waiting for me to go fork over $450 to pick it up but really, 2011 is going to be great.
Randy gets to move home! After 3 years of living and working in Victoria and coming home only on the weekends the transfer finally came through. One week from today my husband gets to come home for good. We get to be a normal family again. So many things we've been wanting to do become possible. Our spring plans include buying a family membership at the Rec Centre, building a chicken coop and a nice big vegetable garden and just enjoying spending evenings together as a family. We could not be happier.
Lily turns 2 in eight days. My baby days are over and we get to move on to a different phase for our family. More sleep, more freedom, more activities we can all do together. I am looking forward to taking her to her first gymnastics class tomorrow and she can start at Brigadoon Scottish Dance as early as July if we think she's ready.
I believe Cindy and Darah are going to choose to live with us for quite a while and we just love having them around. They are wonderful girls. Fun, helpful, sweet to the kids and have really just fit right into our family. having them here is very different from when we've had male students, it feels really relaxed and natural for them to be here. When they finally finish school and move on we will miss them so much.
The first half of 2011 could be a bit tough financially but this is the year that we will have a few big-payment things paid off which will free up some money to start doing things like buying nicer clothes, saving up for a family vacation, putting money aside for retirement and not having to panic when a car breaks down.
I'm really looking forward to this whole year.
